Understanding ASHA, SHOT, and CTSH class offerings
We're expanding opportunities for newer riders this year!
American Stock Horse Association
ASHA focuses on the versatility and performance of the American stock horse. Their classes evaluate a horse's ability to perform practical ranch work.
Stock Horse of Texas
SHOT is a Texas-based organization that promotes stock horse events with a focus on showcasing the working horse in traditional ranch disciplines.
Good news! CTSH offers classes that can count toward both ASHA and SHOT points. Many riders participate in both programs!
Open to all riders and horses. This is the most competitive division with no restrictions on earnings or experience.
For amateur riders who do not train horses for pay. Riders must meet eligibility requirements.
For riders with limited experience in stock horse events. Perfect for those just getting started!
For riders 18 years and under. More classes available in 2026 including Mechanical Cow Classes!
For horses 5 years old and younger. A great way to develop young horses.
Ranch-style classes focusing on practical ranch work skills and traditional approach.
